calculator is based on two factors: basal metabolic rate (BMR) and total energy expenditure
(TDEE). The difference between them is very intuitive.
The BMR determines your caloric requirements when you perform only standard activities. It,
therefore, estimates your body's baseline rate of energy expenditure for mental work, among
other things. However, it does not take into account additional physical activity.
