Correction of a postural defect. Piotr's silhouette metamorphosis

Piotr is a very active man, focused on a clearly defined goal. He combines hard physical work with training at the gym. Despite his active lifestyle, his figure was far from ideal. He struggled with significant abdominal obesity. He therefore decided it was time to seek professional support. He approached me, and we started an individual online diet and training collaboration. The results we have achieved together are great proof that this type of cooperation can be very effective. Piotrek has already lost 10 kg and his belly has become flat! I quickly noticed that the root of the problem was a postural defect. People who simply want to lose weight overlook and neglect their anatomical posture defects. Because of this, the results of weight loss will not be satisfactory enough, despite the loss of kilos. Peter's spine is excessively curved in the lumbar region. This is known as a deepened lumbar lordosis. This causes the abdominal muscles to stretch and weaken, with a concomitant contracture of the antagonistic muscles. The pelvis then becomes tilted forwards. Even slim people with this postural defect have a protruding abdomen. After this diagnosis, we knew what to focus on. In Piotr's case, the most important thing was to choose the right exercises.

How did the online personal training go?

Posture correction requires a lot of work, but it is not impossible! Don't be fooled into thinking that such defects can only be worked on during childhood. Peter is a walking example of this. In the first instance, we focused on functional training. We had to develop correct movement patterns. This involved stretching contracted muscles and strengthening overstretched and weakened ones. We strengthened the abdominal muscles, gluteal muscles and the entire ischio-shin group. Peter also performed exercises that helped to properly align the pelvis. This was all done via an online training platform. Each exercise is described there in detail and accompanied by an instructional video. As a result, Peter learned to perform them correctly himself. This is really great! Of course, if he had any questions, he could use the online consultation. On the other hand, we solved less complex problems via chat.

Dietary cooperation

Also in terms of nutrition, there were a few things to improve. Peter was eating 3 meals a day but not eating breakfast. This had to be changed! We therefore focused primarily on improving eating habits. Many people take an overly restrictive approach to dieting and quickly become discouraged and end up with a yo-yo effect. Meanwhile, the best results can be achieved by taking small steps. Piotr's diet was based on a really small calorie deficit. However, this allowed him to lose around 0.5 kg per week. As a result, in 5 months he lost 10 kg and his waist circumference decreased by 19 cm! Once we reached our goal, we went from a calorie deficit, gradually increasing the calorie content of the diet. Our cooperation continues to this day. All the time I take care of the proper selection of exercises in Piotrek's training plan. I also watch over the correct diet and supplementation. My protégé is satisfied with his appearance and state of health. He has noticed that it is definitely easier for him when he relies on me in this respect. 

The effects of cooperation

I am showing you this metamorphosis because I am really proud of the work that Piotr has done. Remember that you don't have to accept your posture defects at all! Some doctors say that you can only work on them in childhood. Only then are the bone structures flexible enough. However, they overlook the fact that muscles play an important role in posture! Meanwhile, you can work on them throughout your life, improving your comfort. I think everyone should follow Peter's example. What we have developed together also shows what a great trainer I am.
